Research within the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Science is focused in three areas of precision engineering and manufacturing, computational modeling, and bioengineering. Within these areas, students pursue a variety of research topics that address design, manufacturing, metrology, thermal and fluid sciences, solid mechanics, bioengineering, materials engineering and science, and mechanical control and instrumentation. Students are encouraged to review the variety of research interests as they choose an advisor and develop a plan of study. Below is a list of our faculty and research programs.
